Chesapeake Bay Flotilla
The Chesapeake Flotilla has hundreds of registered boats and a few boatless sharing their favorite c/o anchorage's and
beaches on the Bay. Most seem to be active naturists, not gawkers. In the 2000 season the coordinator and friends met at
least 30% of the Flotilla since almost all of the rendezvous were north of Pooles Island. Since the Flotilla has grown
so fast throughout the Bay that it's gotten tough to track everything. By July 2001, regular gatherings had been held in
half a dozen or more anchorages throughout the Bay from the C&D to the James River. Some weekends, some boats have had a
choice of rendezvous to attend. The future seems ripe to improve yet further. Anyone can "host" a rendezvous by placing
a message on Yahoo Groups. All that's needed is a good c/o spot. Sometimes the "host" is smacked by Momma or Murphy,
so doesn't make it. That hasn't stopped them from being great rendezvous. Typically, "host" boats which often are smaller
than yours, down to 15' so far will announce to the list that they're going some place that weekend by Wednesday or Thursday.
Replying is nice so they expect you, but isn't required. The Flotilla contact channel is 77 and fly your burgee. Call and
listen for "Chesapeake Flotilla" and negotiate a rendezvous. Click on "Polls" to register your normal weekend range;

We also expect events to be called for Labor Day Weekend Rendezvous North and South, so interested "hosts" post a message.
